The main issue being sourcing high quality wild raw material, which now is very difficult to source. The wood which went into the pot was from a single very old tree, thick logs of heavily resinated wood, ground up, zero soak and distilled to precision carefully, creating a oil of great stature.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe outcome an oil that will be spoken about now and in the future, reminiscent of the good old days where oils from this region were at the top of everyone's favourite list. This oil embodies the luxurious scent of ancient agarwood, the piercing woodiness of mature resin and that fizzy sparkle which Malinau oud is known for. The colour of this oil is a deep golden orange with a nice velvety viscosity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe oil has been sat away ageing for nearly a year and is ready now to take your nose deep into Borneo island. Off the dipstick you are struck with a robust fizzy vanilla incensey top note, there is a candy like bitter sweetness with a golden resinous vibe. This oil is very strong and keeps going and going, it literally feels like you have a sinking piece of Borneo agarwood sizzling away on your wrists, the wafts keep going and going and smell delicious. Once applied to the skin the oil bursts with a strong piercing woodiness, the smell of pear drops, raspberries, whipped cream, pineapple, guava and the smell of a ocean breeze, with the ocean waves hitting rocks. The mid notes head towards a sour zestiness think clementines and lime juice followed by cinnamon and fumes of sweet woody smoke. The base notes carry on what feels like forever with a gooey sticky honied antique woodiness. This oil is literally the closest aroma to a chip on low heat, however this time not on your heater but on your wrist, arm, beard or clothing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBringing back to life those old legendary Borneo ouds in recent times, no nonsense top shelf Oud.
