Maroke Royale 1982
I remember back in 2012, I was fortunate enough to experience and smell almost every Oriscent oil in existence, thanks to a good friend and his massive collection. I spent hours on end studying those oils; even now, I can recall their names and aromas vividly. This was my introduction to high-grade artisanal distillations—the kind of experience most "Ouddicts" only dream of. Having hundreds of bottles of top-shelf, aged oud in front of you is a rare privilege and I am grateful because it truly set the standard for my nose.
I remember asking my friend back then which oil he loved most. He replied, "Oud Royale." He had several bottles of it and I smelt every single one. When he told me the oil’s value and its history, I felt reluctant to even take a swipe but he insisted. I ended up swiping it multiple times just to truly understand it. In fact, the last time I wore this oil was on his wedding day, a special occasion where he applied it on himself for the first time in years. What struck me most was the purple and blue florals, the deep powdery earthiness and the rich heavy resinous base.
Fast forward years later: this oil has surfaced a few times in private Sultan Qaboos (SQ) collections, but I never had the chance to smell those varients of the oil. We know this oil was commisioned by Sultan Qaboos himself, so you can imagine the caliber of this oil at a time with unrestricted funds and ancient, resin filled agarwood trees. When a close friend and collector told me he had a few tolas of the exact release from years ago—stored perfectly to maintain its top, middle, and base notes, I had to get my hands and nose on it as this opportunity only comes once in a lifetime!
When I received the oil, I called my friend and told him I’d give him my entire oud collection if this wasn't the original oud sold years ago. One sniff and those memories came rushing back. I knew instantly it was the exact same oil. I sent him a sample to verify it against his own bottles. When I called him earlier, he pulled my leg saying, "This isn't it." I told him there was no way I was mistaken, to which he laughed and replied, "It’s the same oil—in fact, it smells even better."
While this oil has been sold at varying price points with a few vendors, Habzoud is offering it at the best value yet, once its gone its gone. Also im not sure if other variants were compared to the original, this one for sure has!
This is 100% the oil we all know distilled in 1982, verified and confirmed. I won’t write a lengthy description, as those who know this oil already have the information and history behind it. I will simply say: this is a special experience featuring powdery purple and blue florals, juicy earthiness, boozy resins and a hauntingly beautiful antique aroma. Theres notes of dusty jasmine, blue lotus, resinous earth, soft tobacco, raw oud resin on a pristine woody base. The aroma is so deep and complex, the wood this must have been juiced from must have been insane! Many would say this is the best oud oil ever without exaggeration. A real ancient Oud distilled in 1982 and a super rare opportunity to aquire this legend and have it as part of your collection.
This isn't just an oil, it is a rare piece of olfactory history. Each purchase comes in a high recovery v vial.
