Oud Asil
This oil is a gift to the community and especially those who want to experience an artisanal traditional Hindi oil. We have released a range of super clean Hindi oils with an upcoming release of Nagaland Sultan. However, Oud Asil is a warm-up to that release. Each purchase will come with a complimentary sample of Nagaland Sultan, which is a representation of the finest Nagaland has to offer. Oud Asil was distilled 6 months ago and has been settling in a dark cupboard. After trying it today, it’s ready to be released. The reason why this oil is referred to as a gift is its price, to give back to this community that has supported Habzoud over the years.
Oud Asil is an absolute monster when it comes to projection and longevity. The presence and strength of this oil is impeccable. Named after the pure-breed Arabian stallion, this oil will make its presence known and cloud you in a Hindi oud bubble. The raw materials are a mix from different regions of upper Assam, soaked in clean well water and distilled in a traditional setup.
The colour of the oil is a pale yellow and off the dipstick you are hit with bitter orange peel subdued in various shades of leather and aniseed. This oil is for barn and animalic lovers, though those notes are beautiful here with nothing fecal or off-putting. For those who only like super clean Hindis, this oil isn’t for you. Of course, unless you are searching for what a proper traditional Hindi should smell like.
Once applied you are struck with hide leather, melted chocolate, bittersweet barn, citrus peel, cocoa leaves, dense creamy woodiness. The middle is earthy spices, black pepper, aniseed, cloves, cumin with an alluring animalic incense note pluming off your wrist. The base settles to that classic sweet boozy Hindi vibe with sidr honey, ripe plums, tobacco, and antique woods.
This oil will literally fill a room with its aroma. It lasts for hours on end. Even if you’re not yet into this style of oil, this is a no-brainer to stash away, and with age will only get better and better. It would work perfect in a blend with rose or even in an attar.
